Desirous of achieving her ambitions independently, Sunset Shimmer sought refuge through a dimensional gateway - a magical mirror connecting to the human realm known as the human world. In this new environment, she strategically positioned herself as the sovereign of Canterlot High School, employing tactics of manipulation and intimidation.
Sunset's ultimate objective remained focused on Equestria, as she schemed to acquire the Element of Magic from Twilight, with the intent of converting the human school's inhabitants into subjugated pawns for an invasion and subsequent takeover. However, her malicious plan was thwarted by Twilight, who not only outsmarted Sunset but also reclaimed her rightful crown. Confronted with her failure and the embarrassment of defeat before the school assembly, Sunset Shimmer experienced a profound humiliation, prompting her to seek redemption and forgiveness.
Following her transformation, Sunset has cultivated strong alliances with the human counterparts of Twilight's Ponyville companions, including the human version of Twilight Sparkle herself. As a redeemed individual, she has dedicated herself to safeguarding the human world from magical dangers. The bond between Sunset and the Equestrian Twilight is further solidified by a pair of enchanted journals that serve as a communicative link and a conduit for interdimensional travel. This connection is pivotal, allowing for direct assistance from Twilight when the situation requires her expertise and authority.
